@wordpress_fan1, it is highly unlikely that that this has got anything to do with the bump from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2, as there have been exactly two changed lines between those two releases, if you discount READMEs etc.), fixing a backend JS issue and a crash when a plain quoted shortcode without any arguments was included in the post content. If you see a difference, it is probably due to some cache finally refreshing. “Images courtesy of …” is line used when the “Display credit after posts” option is enabled. It is only ever used in that case.
The “Foto: xxx” string would be from your custom integration, of which I’ve been mailed a code sample by your developer. From what I’ve seen, it is not using the publicized API but directly accessing the post meta keys. This is not and has never been a supported way to access the media credits. However, there have been no changes to the meta keys themselves, so querying them with get_post_meta
will have still worked with 4.0.x. I’ve asked your developer for specific issues they encountered, but have not heard back from them.
As to your last question: This is a volunteer project and support you get on these forums is by volunteers. You are not a customer and you should not expect customer support (even though the response time in these forums is often far quicker than for many commercial plugins). There will not be a paid version of any of my plugins (as long as I continue to maintain them).
