• Not sure if these are bugs

    1) http error when trying to upload images to media library

    2) when trying to edit image within media library it states image data does not exist (yes it does)

    3) cannot change header image screens goes blank after submitting

    4) took a full day to export from .com to import for the .org version full or errors etc, didnt build folders, missed loading images correctly for less than 15 posts and only a few mb I had to change php to 64mb just to get it work,

    5) loads of other minor errors , i really feel 3.4 is either out too early or is memory intensive

    6) same theme used on both yet on the .com website it supports the full size image we uploaded, however on the .org version it does not support the same size image go figure huh

I really need to export from your servers to my own without all this hassle of nothing working something is seriously wrong

You can always pay for the guided transfer from .com – https://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/

The http errors and all are usually indicative of PHP issues on your new webhost. Yes, this could be a memory problem, but how much memory you need greatly depends on how big your site is, what plugins you have installed, and what theme you’re using. Lots of variables.

That one is easy. Go into your media settings and change them ??

our webhost is our own server which we have had for a few years now without any issues at all, only issue have been with wordpress seeming to be extremely memory hungry
if you are meaning edit image within the media library nope this does not work either blank screen and then wordpress decides there is no image data.

there is defo an issue in wordpress not sure what but there is, i would say memory

our server is heavily kitted out and runs several sites one being a heavy traffic site full of videos and images, so there is no issue with php within our server or any shortage of memory

to give you an idea while trying to install the header image of 203k we had a spike of memory usuage on our server from wordpress of 308MB

anything using images or any plugins for images causes this spike only on wordpress

I tried to upgrade to wordpress 3.4 yesterday. Unfortunately without making a back up first (I know that’s stupid, will not happen again now). What happened is I got loads of failure warnings related to lack of memory. I did use FileZilla to put upload an old version, but afterwards however it seems that the upgrade did happen (it says I have wordpress 3.4), but now my admin side looks horrible (for instance words are placed on top of each other, the main “menu bar” which was a left column before is now all over the place, etc) and I cannot edit posts in visual mode. I get html only and what must be buttons cannot be clicked. On the front side all is well, but I cannot work with this admin mess.
    What should I do now?
Thanks for your help! Please bear in mind I am not a wp-expert ?? so if you can help me, please tell me exactly what to do…
    Thanks,
    Suzanne

suzannebakker, make your own topic please.

scruffy1, sorry, when you said this:

took a full day to export from .com to import for the .org version full or errors etc, didnt build folders, missed loading images correctly for less than 15 posts and only a few mb I had to change php to 64mb just to get it work,

I assumed your issues had to do with a move from .com to .org, which is it’s own thing.

to give you an idea while trying to install the header image of 203k we had a spike of memory usuage on our server from wordpress of 308MB

I can’t reproduce that, personally. My guess would be it has to do with your plugins. Have you tried turning them off and uploading the header image?
