• I have WP 3.4.2 and latest BP 1.5.6. Previous version of your plugin works fine, but the new one is not working and even causing problems when creating new groups.

    Probles are as follows:
    1. In the groups listing I have now statis not working buttons for various types of subscriptions
    2. When I/user want to change type of notification it doesnt respond in any way
    3. No email option in admin panel (cant mass email group members)
    4. When creating new groups I get PHP error if plugin is enabled

I had to downgrade to 3.3.3 (luckily I had a backup). Your plugin is AWESOME and I cant picture using BP without it, but the lastest upgrade changed something important in code, so it broke.

I might add, that the current settings for subscriptions still worked fine after upgrade to 3.4, but couldnt change them.

    Hi boro666,

Thanks for testing on BP 1.5. We did not do adequate testing for older versions of BP.

I have just pushed a fix for this on our developmental version of the plugin:
    https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-group-email-subscription/archive/master.zip

Please test and let me know if this resolves your problems.

For the group’s “Admin > Email Options” tab to show up, make sure that you selected “Yes” for the “Allow group admins to override subscription settings and send an email to everyone in their group” under the “BuddyPress > Group Email Options” settings page in the WP admin dashboard.

Thanks for the quick response. I have tested this hotfix, but still same problems remain.

Java SCRIPT on the groups page not working (static buttons, not responding) in Opera 12, Chrome 28 and Firefox 22; screenshot: https://i41.tinypic.com/2rcagbb.png

In admin options mass emailing is enabled, but the menu for that in groups is still missing.

I have also tryed other than default WP themes, wondering if thats the broblem, but no.

I won’t be able to test this until Monday at the latest. But I’ll try to remember to get back to this then.

@boro666 – If you are using the bleeding version from GitHub, make sure the plugin directory name is 'buddypress-group-email-subscription' and not 'buddypress-group-email-subscription-master'. Sorry about that.

@r-j-1 – If you downloaded the version listed in this thread, follow the advice above. Otherwise, can you detail what is wrong? Is it the same problem as shown in the screenshot that boro666 took?

I have overwritten the old files with those from the github package, so the directory name remained of course without “master” suffix.

@boro666 – Hmm, can you try the latest master? I added some code that might address the CSS and JS not being enqueued properly:
    https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-group-email-subscription/archive/master.zip

I am not able to duplicate the problem on WP 3.4.1 / BP 1.5.7 / GES bleeding.

If you are still running into issues, can you pass a link? If the site is private, contact me.

I have the same situation, see the boro666’s screenshot:
    https://i41.tinypic.com/2rcagbb.png
Buttons doesn’t work, I cant close subscription dialog window.
I install prevous version 3.3.3 – this helps.
