Thank you for this report. Do you see an error message?
Could you tell me what version of PHP, WordPress and the plugin you are running?
Was it a manual backup? A database or complete backup? what size is the backup usually?
Would be good if you could enable support on the BackUpWordPress admin page.

    thanks

    Paul,

Plugin 3.2.0. WP 4.1.1, and PHP 5.4.38 at Hostgator.

I was doing a manual backup.

These sites I was testing on were development sites that are password protected by .htaccess. Now I am fully aware that auto backups don’t run when behind .htaccess because wp-cron can’t run…..but in the past I’ve never had an issue running a manual backup.

With 3.2.0 I can run the backup…..watch it run, but no files ever get created and no errors are shown.

What do I need to do when enabling support? Email you something?

There’s a blue button at the top of the BackUpWordPress admin page “Enable Support”

    UPDATE:

Tested on another site that wasn’t password protected and 3.2.0 seemed to work.

So wondering what happened to not allow manual backups when password protected.

Ok, enabled support on the pw protected site and I’m ran a backup now.

    Still no file created.

    Hi Paul,

    I have the same problem.

I installed version 3.2.0 on two WordPress sites this morning and neither will run backups. There are no error messages, they just seem to time out and give up.

I removed them and installed version 3.1.4 and they both work fine.

Both are running on Heart Internet servers, PHP/5.3.28, WP 4.1.1.

Sorry, forgot to mention I ran manual backups.

Also, I notice that when I get 3.2.0 to run….it’s MUCH slower to finish. Even on small database dumps.

I updated to latest version of backup plug-in and got the following error from a manual backup…

zip error: Invalid command arguments (no such option: S)

    Worked before update.

I am also having this same problem. I have just updated the plugin and now doing a manual backup of a 5mb database it finishes really quickly and no file is created at all and no error message. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin but the problem persists. I am on a litespeed server.

Same issue with 3.2, manual full backup shows:

zip error: Invalid command arguments (no such option: S)

I just uploaded a bunch of photos, but see no file names starting with a hyphen.

    Edit to add:
    WP 4.1.1
    Apache/2.2.27 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.27 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4
    PHP 5.4.27

So version 3.2.1 looks like breaks the plugin altogether.

EDIT: looks like backups are being made…..although the plugin is super slow to update the display. Looks like files are being created quickly, but the interface just spins and spins. Still can’t create any manual backups while being PW protection.

Losing faith in this plugin. Off to look for something else.

3.2.1 is working fine here on 3 tested sites so far. No more zip error for full manual backups.

    Thank you!

Complete and Database manual backups working ok with 3.2.1, but still not working if site is PW Protected.

Also, both DB and complete manual backups take longer than with 3.1.4.
