Version 3.0 slowing down website
-
Hi,
Since updating to version 3.0, my website loads indefinitely: it takes now on average 20 seconds for a page to appear, compared to the normal 2 seconds with version 2.1.2. I ran a speed test on GT Metrics, and GDPR cookie consent is the culprit here, with its CSS and JS slowing down the entire website.
For instance, /wp-content/cache/min/1/wp-content/plugins/cookie-law-info/legacy/public/css/cookie-law-info-gdpr.css?ver=1664292905 takes 3.4 seconds to load,
/wp-content/cache/min/1/wp-content/plugins/cookie-law-info/legacy/public/js/cookie-law-info-public.js?ver=1664292905 takes 3.1 seconds to load, and /wp-content/cache/min/1/wp-content/plugins/cookie-law-info/legacy/public/css/cookie-law-info-table.css?ver=1664292905 takes 3.2 seconds to load. That’s a total of 8.7 seconds (onload 8.6 seconds) for only 4 requestsAs soon as I reverted to 2.1.2, my live site behaved normally, loading resources in less than 3 seconds. GDPR cookie fully loaded 4 resources in 1.7 seconds (onload 1.6 seconds). A copy of my live site on my staging site is still running Cookies GDPR 3.0 and is super slow. So this has definitely something to do with version 3.0.
This is something you may want to look into.
