I ran the update from 1.6 to 1.7 and immediately got this error (with *** replacing my server info):

Plugin failed to reactivate due to a fatal error.

Warning: require(/home8/***/public_html/wp-content/plugins/pages-in-widgets//general/init.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home8/***/public_html/wp-content/plugins/pages-in-widgets/pagesinwidgets.php on line 18

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '/home8/***/public_html/wp-content/plugins/pages-in-widgets//general/init.php' (include_path='.:/usr/php/56/usr/lib64:/usr/php/56/usr/share/pear') in /home8/***/public_html/wp-content/plugins/pages-in-widgets/pagesinwidgets.php on line 18

Deleted and reinstalled fresh, and still got the error. Reverted to 1.6 and it’s working fine. Suggestions?

  • same error here

same for me also – broke my entire site – all I get is an error page – no matter what

Set it back to 1.6 and the site came back….

Help! same for me and I don’t have a copy of 1.6
Can anyone send me a link to the download for version 1.6 please!?
    many thanks

    Ok found it!

Just to say Mr Major – the contact form on your website failed to send – not impressed

Will be removing your plugin from my site as soon as I can…

I have this installed on 7 sites, so a simple remove is not the best option for me… bummer ??

…same here. Update causes a crash of the entire WordPress site…

please fix as soon as possible!

    problem starts here:

    [ require pagesinwidgets_PATH.DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR.’general’.DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR.’init.php’; ]

Here’s what I see in my error report:

[error] 1638#1638: *37 FastCGI sent in stderr: "PHP message: PHP Warning: require(…/wp-content/plugins/pages-in-widgets//general/init.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in …/wp-content/plugins/pages-in-widgets/pagesinwidgets.php on line 18

    Hi All

The problem has been fixed, if you use version 1.7.1 i fixed the issue. My apologies for any site that were affected by this issue i you need any help with getting this resolved please email me at [email protected]

    what was it?

All it was in the end was that one of the files the plugin requires wasn’t correctly added to the wordpress plugin repository so when the plugin updated it didn’t load that file and thus the errors.
