Version 1.5.1: Error Log disabled

  • After installing the new version 1.5.1 of ICafe Library I get the error ?Error Log disabled?:

    Version 1.5.1: Warning: error_log() has been disabled for security reasons in /users/kleinod/www/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1036

    That means this is an error occurred during the installation, in which error-log of the server would be held to (compare: https://de3.php.net/manual/de/function.error-log.php). My Hoster: bplaced.net has this feature disabled for “security”, so I can’t say whether the installation has run to completion, therefore, despite the error. Therefore I don’t know the error (if it ist an error at all).

    Now is a option to generally disable the function error_log() by uncommenting in wp-db.php on line 1036, bu then I can no longer detect conflicts. What exactly is written to the error-log (Warnings, Notes or only Errors)? With version 1.5, I do not have such problems. Is a solution for this problem known?

    A few more questions:
    1) YouTube playlists are possible in the HTML area. How are they possible in the YouTube area? Or is there another way to play several videos in a row?
    2) Is it planned to install a Counter to count the clicked content?

    Savarah, I,m on vacation with limited access until next week. I will look at the error log issue as soon as I get back…I’ve not heard/seen that before.

    As for the youtube question, the HTML area will be what you want. The YouTube option simply takes a normal YouTube URL and automatically creates the embed code for you. It’s really there to save users a few clicks for the most common type of embeds. The HTML option is there to ensure that you can embed anything you might want…you could do a playlist OR you could paste several youtube embed codes in one after another if you wanted them all to display in the same tile.

    Can you give me some more detail on the counter idea. What sort of reporting are you interested in?

    Basically all I need is a simple click-Counter (Clicktracker) Report for Books, Chapter and Resource Tiles at weekly or monthly intervals. If it is possible also with the associated referring link (Link-Referrer), if this is not within the hierarchy (Books, Chapter, Resource Tile) and comes from outside the Books.

    • Books & Chapter: weekly & monthly basis
    • Resource Tile: monthly basis; possibly Link-Referrer if this comes from outside the Books
