Version 1.5 to 2.0.4 Drafts for Review

  • Hi

    Upgraded from 1.5 to 2.04. In 1.5 options/writing there was a check box for Newly Registered Members who authored articles. I had “May submit drafts for Review” checked. This way when they wrote an article, I would see it in the “Awaiting Moderation” area to be approved or deleted.

    In 2.0.4 I’m totally confused how to set it up the same way. I want people to submit a draft for me to approve, but can’t figure out how to do this.

    Is there a way to do it in 2.0.4 and if so, can someone point me in the right direction.

    I tried that, but it does not put it in the Awaiting Moderation folder like it did in 1.5. In 1.5, I could log in as Admin, check my moderation folder for both drafts as well as comments. Is this feature not available for 2.0.4. If it isn’t, WP took a step back. It was a great way to moderate incoming articles.

    1. There is no “awaiting moderation” folder. It has never been.
    2. If a contributor makes a post (actually, a draft) the admin should go to “Manage” and be able to see:
    Your drafts (his own) and
    Others drafts

    I guess I don’t get it. Maybe folder was the wrong word to use. Under Manage I have a link that says “awaiting moderation” for 1.5. I notice it in 2.0.4 also. However, it doesn’t work like 1.5. Even if I change it to Contributors I don’t see the draft in the Moderation que (sorry if I used the wrong term again, but i think you know what I mean…at least I hope because I don’t know what to call it).

    thanks for trying. I guess I need to go back to 1.5 because it works that way and makes sense.

    I appreciate your effort but I’m missing something or not getting it.

    OK, let’s try it again.
    Log out as admin.
    Log in as the user who is just at the Contributor level. Write a post as Contributor. Save it.
    Log out.
    Log in as admin.
    Click on Manage.
    You must see above the posting area a list of
    a) your drafts written as admin
    b) Other’s drafts – submitted to you.

    EDIT.
    In 1.5, I could log in as Admin, check my moderation folder for both drafts as well as comments
    That’s not true!
