• I love this plugin. Thank you for your effort. I was using version 1.2.7 without issue. I updated to version 1.2.8 and I received a fatal error – concerning a bad function call in line 370 of entrywizard.php. I managed to get my site back by renaming the php file and reloading 1.2.7. I tried it several times with no success. I think the offending function call was: $data = get_plugin_data( __FILE__, false, false ); . Any help would be appreciated.

  • Did the same thing to mine. Getting 500 error and it won’t let me delete the new plugin. I am new to wordpress and have not figured out to get my blog back up.

What worked for me was navigating to the EntryWizard folder found here public_html/wp-content/plugins/entrywizard and renaming the entrywizard.php file to entrywizard.php.old and then reloading my site. After that I uploaded the old entrywizard.php file to the same location from version 1.2.7 to get the plugin back. I suppose I could have just uploaded the old version of the file and I wouldn’t have to have renamed the file. I did that to see if that was the problem file. I hope that this helps.

Thanks for the info. My site will not let me change the name. Says it can’t change due to I/O error. Can’t delete the plugin either. Guess I will have to delete blog and start over. No big deal because I was just getting started but wouldn’t want this to happen when I had been working on it for a long time.

Just deleted my whole blog and it deleted for all but one file. Guess what that one file was. That’s right entry wizard. Can anybody tell me why it can’t be deleted.

I have now retrieved the actual error and I thought that I would post it here if it helps. It was – Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_plugin_data() in public_html/wp-content/plugins/entrywizard/entrywizard.php on line 370

petpedia.net – check the permissions on the file to see if it is being protected.

Josie. Thank you for the response but it made no difference. I still get the same error which reads — Call to undefined function get_plugin_data() in public_html/wp-content/plugins/entrywizard/entrywizard.php on line 370 . I have reverted to version 1.2.7.

Doing my best to figure this out — it works on my sites.

I’ve put out a new version without the line that seemed to cause the issue — see if that helps

Thanks very much for you work on ths plug in Josie. I have deactivated and deleted my blog but this plug in still remains. I am afraid to restart a blog with it still there. It is located on my web server and it won’t let me delete it. If you have any ideas please let me know. Sorry if I am not understanding something simple.

Josie. Thank you for the prompt handling of this issue. I have installed 1.2.9 and everything seems to be working properly. You have created a very useful and sophisticated plugin. Jim

Many apologies to those who were affected by this issue. A closer look showed me that the culprit was my attempt to fix things so you wouldn’t all have to clear all your browser caches after an upgrade.

I’ll have to look again at the details of that.

petpedia, I’m not sure what you mean by “deleting” your blog. Are you talking about using ftp? Or about deleting something using the wordpress admin interface?

If you can’t delete the plugin using the wordpress admin pages, use ftp to delete it from the wp-content/plugins folder. But first, do make sure you have cleared all your browser caches – that may possibly be all the problem is.

Sorry to be so much trouble. I had just started by blog so deleting it was not a problem. Yahoo has a deactivate button which deletes wordpress and all data and plugins with it. I used this button and it all disappeared except for entry wizard. It won’t let delet it manually and I have not used FTP yet. My wordpress program was deleted and all other programs. Just the one remains.
