    Hi
I updated to 5.0 and my redirects do not work. Getting 401 instead of 301.
If I actually put the redirection link in the browser, I get a 404 error

    Expected: 301 to /product/yorkshire-terrier-mail-box-cover/
    Found: 401
    Agent: Not using Redirection

If I actually put the redirection link in the browser, I get a 404 error

I used WP Rollback plugin and went back to ver 4.9.2 and all works fine again. Somethings not right….

Do you have a lot of regular expressions?

I have 16000 redirects – it is from a 2018 site migration. I have attached a pic here in dropbox of how they are all set up.

    pic

The dropdown box under url options / Regex – nothing is checked off

How many regular expressions do you have?

Can you give an example of a redirect that doesn’t work?

the “pic” link above I gave is one that didnt work in ver 5. – but does on my site now because I rolled back to ver 4.92.

I dont know what you mean by regular expressions – as I said above, they are all set up the way I show in the pic

    Here is an actual link

    https://dogshoppe.net/product_info.php?products_id=36541
the above redirect link works in ver 4.9.2 and redirects to
    https://dogshoppe.net/product/yorkshire-terrier-mail-box-cover-usa/

in ver 5 – it redirects to a 404 page

There’s not much I can do with a working link, and I would need to see a non-working one.

The redirect works for me on my test site. Maybe you can export your redirects and send them to me?

since I switched back to ver 4.9.2 – they all work again.
I have exported my redirects – where should I send it ?

You know, I am now thinking about it. I set up those redirects for a site migration for product links in Jan 2018. I have just kept them, and now its 2021 and I am looking at the links, and many of the products have since been discontinued and deleted anyway – so the redirect links are incorrect.
I am thinking that it may be more of a detriment having these redirects now… 3 years later
New products (post 2018 migration) when they are deleted, I just delete them and let them go to a 404.
Perhaps you can advise, if perhaps I should just remove the redirects now.

I can’t say whether you should delete the redirects. You have knowledge about the site, and information about whether they are used, and must use that to decide if it’s appropriate.

My contact information is on the support page of the plugin.
