Vers. 2 records page views but not visitors

Strange issue.. Might be some plugin conflict. Do you use some caching plugins?

I only have eight active plugins on my blog, including W3 Total Cache. Are you aware of a conflict between WP Power Stats and Total Cache?

WP Power Stats does not yet support caching plugins. That is something on the to do list. You could try disabling W3 Total Cache and see if WP Power Stats works.

I’ll disable W3 Total Cache now (5:00 pm), I’ll let you know tomorrow if there’s a change for the better. Here’s hoping…

Yesterday I didn’t just disable Total Cache I threw it out but despite that during the last day I had 32 pageviews but no recorded visitors. Do you have any other suggestions? I’ll try anything reasonable.

It is not an issue of a cache. I had previous version of plugin working absolutely correctly with cache. Yet, I do have the same problem as described above, here. I have uninstalled plugin, deleted it’s tables from database, reinstalled it, and all I see is ZERO visitors (0 day, 0 week, 0 montth) and some pageviews. That’s not all! It says 100% direct, zero search engines, zero links, yet it adds referrers to Top Links and I see that people are coming from Pinterest. It says zero % tablet, zero % desktop and 0% mobile, yet 33% android, 33% mozilla dna 33% ipad. How can that be?

Igor, you broke the plugin, everything was working fine in the previous version (OK, except the bots). Now it is unusable.

Dang Ding Dong, you already opened another thread claiming that WP Power Stats 2.0 zeroed all your current statistics?

Reinstalling the plugin deletes the tables that the statistics are kept in.

You can always install the previous version 1.4.

I will investigate this issue.. difficult to reproduce, since I have it working fine.

AHighcrest, what is your MySQL, PHP and WordPress version? Did you do an upgrade from version 1.4 or clean install of WP Power Stats?

Mysql Version: 5.1.55
PHP 5.3.6

I tried Power Stats 1.4 but the recorded results were wildly inaccurate (over a hundred visitors and thousands of page views per day — I wish) so I dumped it and ignored stats collecting completely. Recently I read on a forum that the old Power Stats problem with inaccuracy had been corrected in Version 2 so I thought I try your plugin again, and here we are.

AHighcrest, yes, the statistics collection engine is completely rewritten. So when we’ll get your installation fixed, you’ll have accurate, only real visitors statistics. Can share with me your site url, I can check on the front-end if the plugins runs ok.

On the front-end WP Power Stats seems to be running ok, and tracking the visits… strange. Maybe that is the WordPress version… I’ll try to test more with 4.0.

btw, it’s a good idea to update WordPress to the latest idea to get all bug and security fixes.
