    Hi ksmac13gill,

You could set up a second WordPress website and restore the backup there; or inspect the backup manually (by unzipping), or read the log file to see if it looks like it makes sense.

    Thanks David.
To set up a second website, would I need to get a new domain name, etc?

Is there a way I could restore it onto a website that does not get published (so that I don’t have to get a domain, etc), but that I could upload it and make sure everything is there.

    Thank you!!!

This is all new territory for me – so I greatly appreciate the help ??

You don’t need a second website – if your web hosting company allows you to set up sub-domains, then that would suffice (you’d also need some trickery with your hosts file if you’re using the free version – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_(file) – because the free version doesn’t handle moving the website to a different domain, and you have to work around that by telling your computer to over-ride the lookup being used for the website).

Alternatively, we have a one-time support package in our shop if you want someone else to verify the backups (https://updraftplus.com/shop/).
