Verification fails (with Yoast): We were unable to connect to your server

    Both Google and Bing fail to verify my (working) site using the HTML meta tag method in Yoast.
    Bing responds with “<meta> tag not found before <body>: make sure you place the verification tag with the correct verification key 27867C82B695DXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX in the <head> section and before the <body> tag in your page.”
    and Google with “Verification failed for https://newyorkharborchannel.com/ using the Meta tag method (less than a minute ago). We were unable to connect to your server.”
    Site is on Godaddy.

    We understand you are concerned with Google and Bing failed to verify your website. We can see how this might give you pause. We are happy to take a look! Let’s see what is going on.

    Looking at your website, it seems you’re running outdated version v14.7 of Yoast SEO. We recommend that you update that plugin to the latest version v17.8 including confirming other plugins and preferred theme and WordPress to the latest version.
