Verification Code Problems

FYI, let me start out by saying I have no idea how to tell what version of WP I am using.

I am locked out of my account. It asks for a verification code, which I grab from Google Authenticator on my iPhone. However, when I put this in, it tells me the code is not valid.

I tried signing in to the WP.com message boards, and guess what? Same problem: asks for a verification code, which it says is not valid.

I scoured the net for a while to find out if there was any WP support. Eventually I was able to find a form that let me reach out to someone, and they sent me a temporary verification code to get myself in. However, I run multiple WP sites so, when I signed out and wanted to go back in, it asked me for the code AGAIN.

I also asked to receive a verification code via text instead of the app, but my phone is apparently not synced with my account because I get nothing.

Can someone please help? I’d hate to be locked out of this blog for good because I have been building its reputation for about 3 years now. Thank you.
