Hi,

I’m wondering why the venue block doesn’t have a title and field labels anymore (like the classic views have). I found out where I can change that, making a custom view, but am wondering what the intended default presentation of TEC is these days. Isn’t labeling the info-parts like telephone number and e-mail a thing anymore?

When looking at the demo website, it seems to have labels and a block heading, so that is not the same as the standard venue block when I just install and activate TEC.

Also I find that when I use the classic block for event details and organizer details, the presentation of those blocks are like they where before the block editor and don’t match anymore with the new venue block.

I’m looking for an intended default presentation so that I don’t have to customize too much to ‘get it right’ (in which both all meta and tickets are shown). Where can I find some info on that or an example?

Mostly I use StudioPress genesis framework child themes, so there are almost never specific customizations there and at first I depend on the default presentation and don’t like to customize views, since it means I have to keep track of version changes. Untill now it has meant I just use the classic views, but I rather would migrate to gutenberg.

Our demo site is actually using the classic editor, which you can see in the single event on our demo here:

You are correct that using the block editor does create a different appearance. You do have the option to switch back to the classic editor if you prefer under Events Settings > General.

If you prefer, you can create custom blocks, which you can read about here:

Thanks for the info, but it doesn’t really help. Making a custom block might be quite a challenge since it must interact with tec, probably changing the template would be a more workable exercise.

I know the blocks present different than the classic editor and I had seen the demo. My question was if there is a demo somewhere that presents the intended design based on the TEC blocks (and why not if blocks are the future). I imagine there is a design at the basis of the blocks, isn’t there?

Presentation without a heading or field labels also isn’t just about presentation, but also about structuring html content. And can easily be hidden using css. So I also don’t might not understand the reasoning here and was looking for a why.

Until now I still use the classic editor, also because of a bug in TEC that breaks the single event page. At some point I want to switch to Gutenberg for events too, since it makes for a more featured editing environment. I’ll wait for now.
