    Hi,

I was testing the Dokan Free version for our marketplace website (and hoping to buy the paid version after testing it). Just wanted to know if there’s an option or a way for the vendor to see what kind of payment method has been used for an order. For our marketplace, most of the orders will be Cash on Delivery orders and currently there doesn’t seem any way for the vendor to know if the order is CoD or paid one. It shows up in the wordpress backend (Store Admin) but not for the vendor. It will help if the vendor can know it for a multiple reasons:

    1. Shipping – Shipping CoD orders requires special arrangement with the logistics partners and that has to be done while booking the shipments from the vendor side.
    2. Commission – Vendors can know how many CoD orders their account has received so that the same can be adjusted in the commission payments when the Store Admin pays out the proceeds from the online paid sales (as the online paid sales money will come into the Store Admin’s account while the CoD orders payment will be coming directly to the vendors bank account).

Currently both online payment and CoD orders show up as “processing” in the Vendor Dashboard and there’s no way to differentiate between the two.

    Thanks a lot,

Please let me know if more clarification is needed on the issue.

  • Hello @blessonfire,

You will be glad to know that you can use any WooCommerce compatible payment gateway with Dokan. Here is a list for you.

Unfortunately, there is no default feature of COD in Dokan for now. For now, you will need to manage the COD feature manually and maintain the calculation manually too. Yes, we do have the plan to implement the offline payment in Dokan.

Right now both online and offline payment is calculated together. We hope to implement the separation of the online and offline payment in near future.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I understand that I can use all the payment methods that are compatible with Woocommerce. I just wanted to know if there’s any way for the vendors to know if the order is a COD order or Prepaid order. Currently the order details page doesn’t show what type of payment method has been used by the customer. So it will be difficult for vendor to arrange shipping if the order is a COD order because the vendor will not know that it’s a COD order. And it’s really tedious if the store admin has to tell the vendors all the time which orders are COD. The vendors need to know what kind of payment method has been used, especially if the vendors are shipping the products themselves.

Please let me know if you need more clarity on this.

Warm regards and Thanks a lot for all the help,

    Blesson

    Hello @blessonfire,

I am so sorry to say that it is not possible by default for the vendors to know if the order is a COD order or Prepaid order. In case you need to need to achieve something a feature that will help you gain an option, to notify the vendors about order type you can try modification on the coding. Unfortunately, there is no default procedure to achieve such requirement for now.

You can get an expert opinion while you modify the code.

    Thank you for understanding.
