• I’ve been looking around the internet as well on the forums for answers but haven’t quite found what I’m looking for. I would appreciate a link or a redirect to somewhere that may help me with my search.

I have a Vbulletin based website running Vbulletin 3.6 and I’m looking at completely transferring it over to WordPress based. I’ll be starting a wordpress forum on the new site and I need all of the posts, threads, and members to transfer over. I’m looking for an effective way to do this and haven’t found it yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

  • At present, to best of my knowledge there no such plugins or automated options available to export vBulletin forums to WP blogs. But you have to do it manually if you are pretty good in PHP and MySQL. The logic will be like below.
    Forums/subforums – > categories/sub-categories
    threads – > blog entries
thread replies – > comments to entries
    users – > blog subscribers/registered users
    admin/mod – > blog admin/content creators

In between, I found something similar here, but I am not sure whether it will satisfy your requirement. I didn’t check that yet.

Thank you very much, this is helpful. I was also wondering if you or anyone else had some recommendations on where I can find some WordPress Forum theme Plugins, either free or paid?
