VBulletin 4.2.3 to WordPress

I am trying to convert a VB forum to word press to see if I like word press. I tried bbConverter and apparently it has not been updated in 5 yrs and is not compatible with wp 4.5.3. It converts but when I look for the recount button per instructions in the tools, it is not there. Oh and there is no way to contact the maker of bbconverter and the website is a blank.

I also see another option to use gconverters to do it, but don’t want to spend the money if I don’t like Word Press.

Any options out there and can someone help please.
