    Since 10-15 days ago the system is not registering the VIES consultation number for those orders which has VAT number validated.

    Already 4 orders like this from different customers and countries. Is there something broken?

    It looks like the VIES service silently changed the format of the response, against their own specifications. The response was expected to be returned as requestIdentifier (“identifier” with first “I” upper-case), whereas now it’s returned as requestidentifier (“identifier” with first “I” lower-case). Due to that, the EU VAT Assistant doesn’t see that information. They did something similar (without notice) with the error message returned when the service is failing.

    We’re adding some checks to make it possible to deal with these changes, so that the EU VAT Assistant can collect the necessary information regardless of the lower-case or upper-case keys in the response. That improvement will be part of the next release of the plugin.

    Thank you for the reply. I guessed the problem was a change in the response, but I could not imagine they are not notifying about such changes. It’s not serious and they should be serious.

    Will you release an update soon with the fix to get these number again?

    Indeed, we didn’t receive any notification about such change. Curiously, their specifications don’t say that either. The response schema shows the old identifier: https://prnt.sc/pna59c.

    I’ve the same issue today… VIES Consultation Number Not returned

    and somthing else..
    I place an order for a customer, the VAT was at zero on the checkout pas, but after valid the order, the VAT appears on the invoice.

    I try again with another test account, with the same address and VAT number, that work! But I’ve
    VAT number validated valid
    VIES Consultation Number Not returned
