    Hello,

Everything is working correctly with VAT on our site until we add an order manually. Prices are entered inclusive of VAT but when entering a manual order, products are added to the order without VAT. We then need to use the ‘add tax’ button to get the VAT added to the order. Why are the products being added without VAT and is it possible to change this?

    Many thanks!

    Hello @marissawaite,

This is the default behavior as WooCommerce will enter the product price without VAT in the Add new order page and you’ll need to hit the “Recalculate” button to calculate and add the VAT.

There is not currently a way around that as it isn’t possible to have taxes, etc. applied automatically without manually selecting Recalculate.

This is essentially due to the fact that it is possible to enter a different billing address and/or a different shipping address depending on the customer, therefore different VAT rates for different countries or regions may apply.

If you’re looking for a custom-coded solution, please feel free to consult with our WooCommerce Customizations Partners.

    Thanks.
