Hi, I apologize if I overlooked anything in the documentation, I checked the forum also and I cannot find how to configure that the VAT% is displayed on the invoice.
I can see on the PDF the VAT amount, but not the VAT %, is there any configuration I missed to enable that it gets displayed?
    Thank you

The free Simple template shows only the name of the VAT rate by default. If you include the % in the name, it will be shown on the invoice too, behind the order total. If you want to show the vat rate per line item, or separately in the totals regardless of the name of the rate, you can use our Premium Templates extension. More information: Displaying taxes

Hi, I have a similar problem! I sell services with the same VAT to everybody and show my prices with VAT included in my shop and cart.

VAT that appears in the invoices is (without VAT) as you can see in image https://snipboard.io/gV5Aet.jpg and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong ??

As you say in your “Displaying taxes link” by default PDF must show (includes XX € VAT) beside the price but is not my case…

I’m not sure the problem is in the plugin or WooCommerce configuration, but any help would be fantastic

    Thanks

This looks like a WooCommerce configuration issue. Could you show a screenshot of the order details like the one here: https://docs.wpovernight.com/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips/displaying-taxes/#taxes-missing

Of course! I see that VAT is not shown ?? I don’t know why…

Could be a small error in the tax settings. Maybe you can check them again by following this guide? https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-taxes-in-woocommerce/

    Dear Ewout,
Thank you for your reply, the ticket is marked as “Resolved” but it is not.
I am not sure where the Woocommerce configuration of the text “VAT” is, but anyway it is not so simple in Europe as to change a fixed text.
We have something called MOSS = mini one stop shop since 2015 and we need to apply the VAT% corresponding to the country of the customer.
So it is not one fixed text, it depends on each transaction.
A am reading https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/business/vat/eu-vat-rules-topic/vat-invoicing-rules_en and under “Information required in all cases” it says that it is required to display:
    * VAT rate applied
    * VAT amount payable
If we only show the VAT amount we are not complying with the EU requirements
Thanks for your comments, have a nice evening

Under WooCommerce > Settings > Tax (and then the rate), you can set a name for each tax rate individually. This is what then will be printed in the invoice for all orders placed from that moment on like so:

    Total: €26.05 (includes €4.52 VAT 21%)

If you need more options (shown here), I’m afraid I can only offer that with the paid Premium Templates extension.

    Hi Ewout,

Under WooCommerce > Settings > Tax and then Standard Rates I always had descriptive tax names like “20% AT VAT” (Austria), “21% BE VAT” (Belgium), etc etc for the whole EU.

But they do not appear on the PDF… the PDF shows what I paste here below:
    Subtotal €1,00
    VAT €0,21
    Total €1,21

Instead of just “VAT” it should have displayed “21% BE VAT”, but it does not.

Is there any way I could attach an image to show you how under WooCommerce > Settings > Tax and then Standard Rates I have descriptive tax names?
(I even chose carefully the names for Reduced Tax Rates and Zero Tax Rates, for each EU country)

I appreciate your support, I am very grateful because you reply so fast – I need to go live selling on September 1 and I am panicking

    thanks a lot,
    Lola

I see, if yours is formatted without the tax name and separate from the total, I think you may have either set the option “Display tax totals” to “As a single total” (rather than “Itemized”), or a VAT plugin is overriding the format.

This forum doesn’t allow uploading images, but you can use a third party service like imgur.com if you want to share screenshots

    Thank you so much Ewout!
Indeed that was the cause, I changed the option into “Itemized” and the rate name is displayed
I greatly appreciate your support, thank you very much
    Kind regards,
    Lola
