• Greetings,
first, thanks a lot for you great plugin ! It work well since 2 and half years. When I will be rich, I will get the prmium version ??
I’ve a strange issue I never get. I can provide screenshot if you want.
A customer place an order, with billing address based in Russia (outside EU) and a delivery address in Estonia (EU). He enter ist Estonia VAT number (which is correct and validated), the Tax change from XX€ to 0€. But, when he place the order, the VAT change from 0 to XX€. The Thank You page indicate the VAT XX€… and he pay the VAT (Stripe). Same issue with bank transfer.
If I change country from Russia to Estonia, that work. No Vat everywhere.

Ship countries are all in configuration of Woocommerce.
Calculate tax based on “Customer shipping address”
EU VAT number field will be Optional
Show EU VAT field when customer is located in base country
    Shop based in France.
Tested in France with same address, same issue.
    EU VAT Assistante 1.8.0.180604

    An idea ?

Thanks a lot for your help

What you describe is not caused by the EU VAT Assistant. Our plugin doesn’t calculate or change the VAT on orders, it only reads such VAT information after the order has been created.

Probably there is some other element that forces the application of VAT against an order, despite the EU VAT Assistant having set the vat exemption flag. Other plugins, as well as external VAT services, can do this, either by resetting the vat exemption flag, or by forcing the calculation of VAT.

One way to get to the bottom of the issue would be to go by exclusion, disabling other plugins and external services (including services that use the WooCommerce API) until the issue disappears. That will allow to narrow down the list of possible triggers, and help getting to a solution quickly.
