Various issues since last update

  • Hello All,

    Fairly new to WordPress, however everything was going smoothly until last week when i was automatically updated to v4.5.3. I now have the following issues:

    *’HTTP Error’ when attempting to upload images into the Media Library
    *Unable to edit/publish new posts. The ‘visual’ text box simply stays white and i am unable to write anything.
    *Unable to save drafts, times out and page crashes.

    I have tried all of the obvious things, such as disabling all plugins and switching to a default theme. I have also cleared my browser cache, and tried on all browsers (IE, FireFox, Chrome).

    Does anyone have any suggestions? The website in question is hollyanneblogs.co.uk, currently being hosted by GoDaddy.

    ETA – issues arent present on an old laptop, so perhaps a local PC issue?

  • My problem with GoDaddy is its shockingly slow hosting server. I noticed this last Friday when I tried to update one of my websites hosted by them. The server response was so slow that I had to give up. When I tried again Monday morning, the problem was still there. So I called tech support and spoke to a guy, who gave me the standard spiel and asked me to look into this or that. I told him I strongly believed it’s was due to too much traffic to the shared hosting servers. Later that day the server speed went back to normal and remained so until just now. Maybe it’s time to leave Godaddy because when I need to update my websites it is normally of an urgent nature and I don’t want to wait around until their server is ready.
