Variations with non global attributes broken with woocommerce 3.0.5.

I’ve got a problem using Woocommerce 3.0.5., after updating, customers where complaining that they couldn’t add certain products to the cart, getting error messages as “invalid attribute, product couldn’t be added to the cart” (in German, so this is just a rough translation.
When I tried looking for the problem I found that only products where affected which were using custom attributes (specific to the product), variable products with global attribute variations didn’t show the error.
Is woocommerce not supporting custom attributes for variations anymore?? I find this function relatively useful, for labelling product accurately and filtering roughly with global attributes.
I’ve now downgraded to woocommerce 3.0.4. and everything works again, but it would be nice to be able to use future updates.
