    Hello
Issue: That stupid variations tab is completely gone from my add a new product page! Yes, I have read all the answers here about this ongoing bug. I have already installed the wordpress 5.8.2 and the latest woocommerce update as of 12/6/2021. I also cleared all the transients in woocommerce. I also tried installing that jQuery migrate helper plugin and cleared the cashe of my builder theme…..all of which is completely useless.

Any constructive help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

  • Hello,

When creating a new variable product, the variation tab is not showing up at all?

If that’s the case, the issue may be caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. To determine what’s causing the issue, please temporarily switch your theme back to Storefront and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. If that resolves the issue, then re-enable plugins one-by-one until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

    Hello
That tab is completely gone. Not showing up at all. I have updated every plugin on my website to date and the issue persists. I also deactivated all my other woocommerce related plugins and that does no good. I hit “ADD NEW” to add a new products and that page has the “attributes” tab as you see in your pic, but the “variations” tab is missing.

I took your advice and clicked on that link. It says: “Temporarily deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and the WooCommerce extensions you’re experiencing issues with.”

I cannot deactivate “all” plugins unrelated to woocommerce since that action will completely disable/remove the pages that support woocommerce.

    @jayboo

If only WooCommerce is enabled, you’ll be able to access its core features. So it is recommended you follow the conflict test so we can move further in troubleshooting this.

    Meanwhile:

For better assistance, please share your WooCommerce error logs and System Status on this thread so we can take a look at your configuration and check the issue further:

System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Error Log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).`

I’m in woocommerce “settings” right now and I don’t see “error logs”. That must be in the backend. I’m not that tech savvy and my subpar hosting doesn’t provide a C-panel. By the way, in that case, how does one access the root and core files of a WP website without a C-Panel? My hosting company won’t tell me how to do that.

By the way, I just discovered that there is a “woocommerce update required” blue click button message at the top of the woocommerce settings page. However, if I update that thing it is breaking my entire store page. Only the store page. I tried it twice and had to backup my website both times. I won’t be updating that stupid thing again! And it’s mostly for them to offer/sell products, not for security or constructive functionality purposes!.. ugh! I hate when updates are only for that!

If I can figure out how to post a screenshot of this issue on this thread, I will do that. I have a nice screenshot of this issue on my desktop, but there’s no attachment link thingy here.

    Hello @jayboo,

I hit “ADD NEW” to add a new products and that page has the “attributes” tab as you see in your pic, but the “variations” tab is missing.

Just to be sure, when you hit “Add New” to create a new product do you also select “Variable product” next to Product data?

For easily sharing screenshots on this thread – go to https://snipboard.io please follow the instructions on that page to upload an image, then paste the URL here.

To find your generated error logs:

    1. Go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs
    2. In the top right corner, open the drop-down and select the latest fatal error log, then click view to load it. Here’s what that looks like: https://d.pr/i/tCljQd
    3. Copy/paste the log into your response on this thread.

For the System Status go to WooCommerce > Status. Click on “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here using CTLV + V on your keyboard or press the right button on the mouse (right-click) and paste in your response.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mirko
I’m glad you posted that. I just found out that drop down menu to the right of the “Product data” title is also missing! So both of them are missing!

I got screenshotties of both below:

    Hi @jayboo!

To understand better what could be possibly going on, kindly send us your System Status to further check into this.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you do this, paste in here your response.

    Thanks!

    Hi, Juan
I took a good look at it. I don’t feel comfortable posting that information on a public forum. I can tell you that everything in that report is in green, except for a page that I intentionally made private. All messages and system check-marks in that report are green.

    Hi @jayboo

The screenshot of the unavailable dropdown is indicative of an underlying conflict. The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

I don’t feel comfortable posting that information on a public forum.

The screenshot of the fatal error logs shows some memory issues. If conflict testing doesn’t help then please share your System Status so we can take a closer look. You can remove any sensitive or identifiable information (i.e. your website URL) for privacy reasons.

    Hi Margaret

I’m not familiar with how to change themes. I always thought that if I changed themes I would destroy or delete the current one. My website was built by a so called “Professional website service” and they used Beaver Builder theme with three or four Beaver related plugins – one called “Beaver Themer” and another called “Ultimate Addons for Beaver Builder”.

Exactly how do I deploy “store front” and how do I safely switch back to what I had previously without destroying my current website?

I already disabled all plugins one-by-one and that was useless.

    Hi @jayboo,

Changing the theme normally would not cause major problems. You can switch back to your theme once the conflict test is finished and you should get back the previous layout and style.

However, we always recommend making a full backup before any changes. You could consider using a service like Jetpack or installing a plugin like UpdraftPlus. If something goes wrong it’s nice to know that you can restore your site to the previous state.

Here’s the relevant guide on how to install Storefront:

    Hi Mirko

“Changing the theme normally would not cause major problems. You can switch back to your theme once the conflict test is finished and you should get back the previous layout and style.”

^ I would have to strongly disagree with anyone who thinks changing themes is harmless. I spoke with two professional developers about that and they said “DO NOT change themes or delete/upload a new woocommece plugin unless you have the talent to fix a broken store page.” I don’t. Not the one I currently have. They said “it can and usually does break the store page and you will be having more problems than you already have, and you cannot use a staging site if your hosting company doesn’t offer that service.” So at their advice, I will (not) be changing themes or deleting woocommerce.

I have back-ups, but sometimes they are broken, so I won’t be relying on them.

I did read the woocommerce error logs carefully, and it appears there is issues involving my previous cc processor plugin. That plugin was removed, but it left core files in the back-end that have been causing issues. I spoke to them about it and they agreed to go into my core root files and remove all their data from my website.

My current cc processor plugin company also said that there actually is a way to reconfigure their plugin on their end to modify zip code requirements.

Both companies said their work would be completed within the next couple weeks, so I will wait and see if that is a fix. If not, then I will burn down my website and build a new one on another platform. It’s wayyyy cheaper to build my own e-commerce website than to pay someone else to fix this one or to build a new one. With all the Youtube videos I’ve seen lately, I can definitely build another website from scratch using Devi or Elementor and Rank Math! Boom!

    Stay tuned!

    @jayboo

Glad to hear it – thanks for letting us know!

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.
