Basically, what I’d like is to offer various different chains on the pendant necklaces that I sell. I understand how to make that a variation with Attributes—BUT. I would really like to have it all somehow link to a master stock inventory for the chain types, instead of an individual count. How can I do this? Is it possible?

In case that’s not clear, it’s like say that I have Necklace1, Necklace2, and Necklace3. The blingy bit is going to stay consistent in the individual products, but I’d like to have the option for the customer to choose between a traditional link chain, ball chain and snake chain. Say I have 10 of each—I want it so that if a customer buys 5 of Necklace1 with a snake chain, I want there to only be 5 snake chains available for all three necklaces now. Hopefully that makes sense.

  • Hi there,

There isn’t an option to do this with Variable products as the stock is just tied to one product however you could look into using https://www.woocommerce.com/products/composite-products/ so the user chooses parts of the necklace.

Each part is essentially it’s own product and thus can be used across your site in as many products as you are wanting. Each with their own stock.

(there is a 30 day refund guarantee if you’d like to try it out with all our products)

    Beyond that…

We highly recommend contacting one of the services on our customizations page if you’d like for someone to code this for you : https://woocommerce.com/customizations/
