Variations not enabled in category – Can create manually in ebay

What is the error that you are receiving when you list a variable listing to this eBay category? If it is an error about not being allowed to list variable products in said eBay category, you’ll have to discuss that with eBay seller support and to do that I would recommend generating a log and sending it to their support by following this guide: https://docs.wplab.com/article/56-how-to-send-a-log-record-to-support – but instead of performing step 8, simply send the URL of the log to eBay support to examine.

Knowing what the error is would be helpful.

One thing to keep in mind is that eBay’s listing rules do tend to differ from time to time when listing via their API vs listing directly on their site.

Hello,

Thank you for the quick response.

The error is “Error: Variations not enabled in category (21916564)”.

Its strange as some profiles i’ve tried to apply to that product wont work either, we have variable items in those categories already without any issues.

The category should be allowed according to ebay.

Yes, that is the error I was afraid of.

Unfortunately that is eBay’s system claiming you cannot list a variable listing to the category you are listing to, there isn’t anything we can do about that and what I said before is what you should do:

After doing that, you can tell them that you are allowed to list a variable listing to this eBay category directly on eBay, but when you use eBay’s API to list a product to the same eBay category, eBay’s system says the category does not allow variable listings.
