    Hi there,

Unfortunately I am facing some issues with the variation prices of my products. I use variation swatches and when applied the price doesn’t change but only the range appears. The goal would be that in the shop archive the standard price is displayed (highest price) and in the product page the standard price is pre-selected, however when the customer wants the sample the sample price is displayed (the lowest price). Is it possible to fix this issue, as otherwise clients never know what they actually will be going to be paying until they get to the checkout page, which isn’t the goal. I tried using the Variation Price Display Range for WooCommerce plugin, but unfortunately it broke my website and raised a 500 Error. Is there a way to fix this just with Woocommerce either by some settings or a code snippet?

  • Hey there, @cedricbaguilar! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

As I understand you have a product that has two variations: One regular and one sample. And you want for the price on the shop page to show the price of the regular one. And for the regular option to be selected by default when the customer goes to the product page. Is that correct?

Regarding having the regular option be selected by default, you can achieve that by selecting it as the default options on Product Data > Variations.

    Like this:

Regarding showing the price of the regular variation instead of the range, this is not possible to achieve by default on WooCommerce.

I found another plugin that can help you so this: Variation Price Display For WooCommerce.

Please note that we do not provide support for third-party plugins, nor do we endorse it, so it is good to check the plugin thoroughly to see if it is reliable. You can find more about this in this guide.

otherwise clients never know what they actually will be going to be paying until they get to the checkout page,

By default, the price of the variation chosen should show on the product page. It should show something like this:

It can change a bit depending on the theme.

I checked the link you shared and saw that this is not happening on your website. This might be because of the theme or another plugin.

Are you using any plugins that affect the products?

Can you please temporarily switch to the Storefront theme to check if the issue persists?

Please let us know how it goes.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi there,

Yes, you understood everything correctly. It is two products one standard size, which is selected as default product, and a sample which has to be selected. Now the issue is for one, that even if only Elementor Pro and the Woocommerce are activated, the price still doesn’t change when selecting and just the product price range is displayed. So the issue is that it doesn’t change at all and that is really bad. It is a bug of Woocommerce as if all plugins are deactivated it isn’t a custom code or anything….

I really need this fixed quickly as this is causing me a lot of trouble and harm to my sales.

    Hi @cedricbaguilar

I would like to clarify that WooCommerce is designed to show a price range for variable products by default, as it’s a standard feature. The price displayed on the product page should change based on the variation selected by the customer. If this is not happening, it may be due to a conflict with your theme or a plugin.

You mentioned that you have already tested with only Elementor Pro and WooCommerce active, and the issue still persists. In this case, I would recommend disabling Elementor Pro and testing with a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty Four or our Storefront theme. This will help us determine if the issue is related to your current theme and Elementor.

If the issue persists even with a default theme, it might be a good idea to run a conflict test.

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront or Twenty Twenty-Four
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you do not see the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Additionally, head over to WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and do the following:

    • WooCommerce transients – Clear
    • Expired transients – Clear
    • Clear template cache – Clear
    • Capabilities – Reset Capabilities
    • Clear customer sessions -Clear
    • Product lookup tables – Regenerate
    • Regenerate the product attributes lookup table – Regenerate

Next, please clear your browser and server cache and then check again.

I tried using the Variation Price Display Range for WooCommerce plugin, but unfortunately it broke my website and raised a 500 Error.

This is a third-party plugin, and we don’t provide help & support for 3rd-party plugins or themes as they’re outside our support scope. It would be best to reach out to the plugin developer for further assistance.

    Hi there,

Thanks that worked! It was two plugins that weren’t compatible, but now it seems fixed.
