Variation posts are not deleted when the parent is deleted?

    I was cleaning a client site and found a problem where the variation data was still tied to an old product that was deleted before and recreated with the same information, it looks like when the original product was deleted the variation posts were not deleted, is this an actual bug or just bad luck?

    It depends how you delete them. If you delete it in the database or via some db tools, what you describe can happen. But if you delete it normally like using “move to trash” ( like how you do with pages, posts ), then empty it from the trash. It should have cleaned up the variations for you.

    thanks royho I don’t think the client will use any db tools, I’m gonna keep track of it and update the ticket if it happens again.
