First and foremost, I’ve pulled my site down to a local development environment, switched to the Storefront theme, and deleted or deactivated all of my plugins except WooCommerce. I am still experiencing the problem –

I can load a product with variations and it comes up with the main image, no problem. No matter what option I choose from the drop-down, the next image that’s loaded is the first variation option. I never see the second, third, or fourth (for example); I can choose whatever option I want, and for this particular product, all that loads is an image of a charger (variation one). If I load the page and choose variation three, I will still see the image for variation one.

I see no errors anywhere in the inspection tool. I’m using Google Chrome, and everything is up-to-date.

Please let me know if you can help me figure this out. It’s been happening for months, but I’ve just been avoiding using variations. Unfortunately, I have a promotion coming up that requires this function.

    Thanks so much!

  • Hi,

If you can give a link to your site/product page which have the error, it makes deducing errors easy.

    Thank you

It’s on my local dev environment. I don’t have a link to provide.

If I’m using Shopify and have no plugins besides Woo, then it must be a bug, correct? Can you not reproduce this error?

    Thanks for the explanation.

Could you kindly share with us the following:
    * Your system status – to get a better overview of your setup, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.
    * Console errors that come up when you try to change to a different variation image
    * Any relevant error logs stored in WooCommerce → Status → Logs

    Thanks.

Everything in the status area is green and happy. I’ve already mentioned that there are no console errors. There are also no error logs.

Again, all plugins were deactivated (except WooCommerce), and it’s a fresh install of Storefront – no customization at all.

I don’t see how this could be anything but a bug with WooCommerce.

It was my fault. When I checked the variations again, the drop-downs for each of the four options was set to something called Any Options:… instead of a specific variation. I’ve never had that happen before, and once corrected, variation images started loading correctly.

I’m leaving this up for anyone else similarly baffled.

Great! Thank you for letting us know! ??

    Cheers.
