With the latest update, I’m now getting “Sorry, this product is unavailable. Please choose a different combination” when choosing a variant on products.

I have 2 variations on all products (size and color). All variations are enabled, and all sizes have a price attached. The colors do not have a price because there’s no cost to choosing a color. If I add $0 in the price field for the colors, then when adding a product to the cart makes it free. So I removed the $0 out of the color and I’m back to getting the “Sorry, this product is unavailable. Please choose a different.”

I disabled all plugins except Woocommerce, and I switched to the Twenty Fourteen theme. Same result regardless. There is no common situation when that error pops ups. One 1 product, it might show up if I choose a certain size and 1 or two colors. On a different product, it could just show up if I choose any color or size. So it’s different regardless of the product or variation.

If someone can give me some advice, it would be super helpful. Thanks!

  • I am very new to woocommerce, so forgive me if this is totally irrelevant!

Have all the variations either have zero stock (so that it is managed at top level) or each variation has a stock level.

My understanding is that if a variation has no stock then it will not show – at least I hope so because I am currently coding to use this behaviour.

Sorry if this doesn’t help, but it should only take a moment to check.

I’m looking into this with another user but need access to an affected site. Contact me via DM on twitter @mikejolley if this is possible.

I made sure there was stock inventory for every variation and still getting the error. I need to figure out a solution to this quickly if anyone has any other suggestions.

Hi, I also think I have the same problem …
I upgraded to the new version of woocommerce, but I have a problem with the changes.
    Here’s an example: https://www.kirainushop.it/prodotto/collana-naruto/

Essentially it does not keep me the change and I can not press the buy to put in the cart.

I saw that the problem should be the “variable.php” file of my theme (because if you delete something changes …
Can anyone tell me what should I change there? If I put it possibly serves as an attachment!

(I can not contact the author of the template unfortunately …: /)

The issue in this case was a missing regular price on the variation being selected. Variation prices are required, otherwise you get the “not available” notice.

Hey. I have a problem with the variable products.
I have multiple categories and one of the categories work , the other desn’t work.
I test them with fewer customizations: mattress size, bed size and price.
In the front end appear the message : “Sorry, this product is unavailable. Please choose a different combination.”
Why? What is the problem? Thanks!!

I am having the same problem since the update. (“product unavail”)
Also, how do I add more variations?.

If this was resolved, what did you do? I am not able to even add prices to variable products (doesn’t even show up in the back end). Not sure why. I’ve checked for plugin conflicts and that doesn’t affect it. Thanks for any info.

    Hey.
I haven’t introduced the “regular price” and because of this, the product was not available.
    Variation prices are required.
Please add an attach to see what is the problem and see the error.

Im having the same issue, and it will not allow me to add prices – I add in a price and click save and go to look at it – and EVERYTHING is gone.

Its like not saving my updates. Does price need to be entered in a particular way? Like does it need decimals? Dollar sign? Just a number??

So I have deactivated ALL plugins (not that I had a lot anyways) except Woocommerce (Version 2.6.9). Just updated all my themes and WordPress (WordPress 4.7) and activated the Twenty Fifteen theme.

I go into my product, product data is set at variable product.

A global attribute for length has been set with 2 options. About as simple as one can get.

This global attribute has been added to the product.

Go to the variations tab, and I open one of the variations. The checkbox for enabled is checked. I check the virtual checkbox – leaving the other two UNchecked.

I put in a price of 2.00. I leave the sale price blank. Stock status says it is in stock.

Shipping and tax class is same as parent. 2 words description. Again about as simple as you can get. Click “save changes” button. Screen refreshes. I reopen – NOTHING is saved.

    Rinse and repeat.

    HELP!

Is this via the main product save button, or the save button the variations panel? Maybe you can check your server error logs to see if the save request is failing for some reason. If anything, I’d expect it to be a plugin conflict or the issue would be more widespread.

    Neither save button works actually.

And again, no other plugin is activate except WooCommerce.

And only the variations data is not saving – everything else I do on the site saves perfectly.

If you look at the console in your browser and save via the variation panel, does the ajax request succeed, or are there javascript errors?

I am not sure i know how to do that – I’m just a wannabe coder. lol.
