variable products stock vs. pickup locations
-
Hey, I am facing a problem and I urgently need to know if your plugin is the solution i have been looking for. I have an online shop that ships products from 3 different physical shops. We also allow pickup at the stores. For that I have been using Stock Locations for Woocommerce and WC Pickup Store. So far it has not caused us any problem, but we were also not managing stock properly. It was all manual and not really accurate. But now that we are connecting our online shop with PHC we neeed to make sure the whole stock management is working properly and automated.
Most of our products are variable products, with different colors, sizes, measures, and specific characteristics of this type of products (security products like locks), which make the online shop quite complex. We currently have around 600 products, but we are hoping that it will turn into 3 000 products.
Obviously not all stores have the same stock, and not all stores will always have stock of all products.
The first problem I faced is the following: When a certain variation of a product is out of stock in a shop, I am still able to request this product to be picked up in a shop where the product is actually out of stock. There is a setting that asks “allow orders when there is no stock?” and I selected “Don’t allow”. It works when we’re talking about a simple product with no variations, because the user can not even move on to the checkout page. But the situation is different when it comes to variable products with different stocks to different variations and different locations. Let’s say the stock for one of the variations says “21” and there are “10” in Store 1, “11” in Store 2, and 0 in the Store 3. Since there is an overall stock to this variation, my clients are still able to move to the checkout page, even if the product is not available in one of the shops, because when they order online, wordpress assumes that there is stock available to order. But when it comes to picking it up at a certain shop, then it should not be available in the 3rd physical shop that doesn’t have stock to be picked up. That’s my struggle.Would your plugin be a solution? And does it actually replace the function of WC Pickup Store and Stock Locations for Woocommerce? Then I would delete this two and use only yours if I can finally solve this issue.
Thank you so much for your help
