Variable product search

I have a WooCommerce store with an attribute filtering in place.

There are variable products that have variations based on attributes like Size – Cut eg. 40 – B.

Now the issue is that whenever I filter products for Size 40 AND Cut B the search lists all products having those attributes, regardless of the variations created for each product. As a customer finds his way to the product page, such product variation might not even exist.

Any help implementing a search filter that finds available product variations rather than attributes?
