Variable donation causes plugin to hang

Hi. I’m trying to set up a Donation for people to enter an amount of 5.00 or above. The card entry screen appears with the expected card fields etc but on Submit the system hangs and you have to close the browser tab to escape. Fixed-price items work fine but would like a variable donation as well.
