The <!–more–> “function” leaves a closing paragraph tag after the “more…”, right now only remedy I see is to add an opening para. tag before the function

when I try to insert <!-more-> in a post, comes to < !-more-> , with this extra space. How can I solve this?

Guido, i use an html editor and then copy and paste the source, so all the block-level tags are included in the entry already. I mean, if it’s behaving because of the way I do things, then it’s cool. Adding an open para. tag isn’t a biggie.

errr,.. perhaps my reply was misleading.
what actually meant is like this,
due to function apply_filters() is applied to post content, the script automatically add opening to the post content, and closing tag as well.
This is regardless I have <!–more–> or not in my entry.
From your first post I comprehend that only closing tag is added.
I hope I don’t miss anything this time.
and yes, adding an open para tag isn’t a big deal. Agrre.

    Hi,
I cannot reproduce this problem. Which filters are turned on? (at the bottom of b2vars.php)

perhaps the one under concern is the “wpautop” for ” the_content”, which (perhaps, I’m not sure) appends the and to the post content, which I think what gaius mentioned in the first post.

autop puts blocks of text not already in block level tags into paragraphs.

Could it be, that because the more comment is not in any bolck level tags, autop adds a closing tag? But still, the opening tag is missing… I tried to eliminate the line breaks between the closing p tag of the previous para and the opening p tag of the next para but the more comment and its “product text” still shows up as its own para w/o a starting tag.
