Validate Default Values

We are using a Pro version of this plugin and there are two images for the fields that are supposed to be used for validating the default value and to stop the fields from removing the default value onclick. I set the default values to not be validating and I still get results, and if I click the do not clear field that does not work either. Is there something extra I am missing?
