I updated to v3.1.1 yesterday. My site regularly uses a table in a post. These displayed correctly in v1.9.8.1, ie each column was left justified. In v3.1.1 each column is centre justified and so the required formatting is lost and text is difficult to follow. I have checked the source HTML for a couple of affected posts and there is no align statement in either of them so I would have expected the default left justification to have applied.

Is this a bug in v3.1.1? If so can it please be rectified? Failing that, is there a work-around? Manually editing posts to include align=left statements is not an option as there are nearly 9,000 posts (though not all have a table).

  • Hi,

Can you post a link here so we can take a look? Likely just a CSS issue we can fix for an upcoming release.

We’re diagnosing issues for everyone and will push out a fix release with improvements soon.

This issue has not been rectified in v3.1.3 and so continues to be a significant problem given the number of posts on my site that contain a table.

    Update:
I have now been told of a further problem when displaying a table. In addition to the centring issue mentioned above, on mobiles using the Windows Phone platform text does not wrap within a table cell, the result being that only part of the table is displayed and the right hand side is lost. iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry do not experience this issue.

I have again checked the source HTML of a couple of affected posts and there is nothing incorrect and certainly not any fixed column width statements.

We’ve added some code that should handle tables correctly, and its included in the 3.1.4 release coming out later today.

I’m not sure about the Windows Phone issue, we haven’t seen that reported before and it may just be a device/browser issue that Microsoft will have to fix.

Thanks. v3.1.4 appears to have resolved this issue.
