Since the release of v2.0 which caused all the well-documented calamity, there have been more than 10 updates to this plugin yet I STILL cannot do two basic things:

    1) Upload an image to one of my galleries. When I try this, it gives no error message, just indicates, “Upload Complete 0 images uploaded.”

    2) Browse beyond the first page of a multi-page gallery. When I try this, I get a blank page with only the message, “No input file specified.” The first gallery here, https://houstonsonics.com/?page_id=1029, is a perfect example.

I’ve been exceedingly patient about this, but it’s becoming extremely frustrating. Please address these issues ASAP.

  • Try changing your permalinks back/forth to what you have site. (save to default, then back to whatever you like)

I am seeing something similar. The upload seems to start, then I see a green icon. I assume this means 100% uploaded but no image is ever uploaded, I have checked via FTP and even the NextGen interface does not show any images at all. Any ideas? Running the latest version as well.

@mealto: It is impolite to interrupt another poster’s ongoing thread unless you are posting a solution or suggestion. It causes significant problems for the forum’s volunteers and prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Please post your own topic.

If you are having trouble with image uploads, please feel free to submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/) with your site specifics so we can help you sort this out.

    Thanks!

UPDATE: Posted both issues in the bug tracker and got a quick resolution. Changing my site’s Permalink Settings from “Default” to “Post name” caused everything to resume working. Hopefully this will do the trick for some others who are still experiencing the same issues.

Thanks for posting a solution, appreciate it. This means those of us who have long standing custom permalinks will not be able to use this gallery until / if there is a fix.

@mealto: If you are using custom permalinks, mostly like there’s a different issue. As @ponggod noted, we’ve found that in a few specific hosting environments only, for some reason the *default* permalinks interfere with uploads. But custom permalinks, as far as we know, should not. If you do submit a bug report, you may want to specify which types of permalinks you are using just so we can use that to further assess what may be the issue on your site. Thanks! (Erick)

@ponggod: thanks very much for taking the time to come back and post the solution. Not everyone does that. It’s much appreciated.
