• I have added WP 2.0.x support for the PayPal QuickTag.

    Go to this link and copy/paste all code to replace the code in your quicktags.js.
    IMPORTANT: Make sure you backup your old quicktags.js so you don’t loose anything.
    ALSO IMPORTANT: If you have customized QTs you will also need to move them into the new file.

    FYI: Clear your browser CACHE after replacing the file.

  • I just copied and pasted into wp-includes>quicktags.js and reset my cache… but I don’t have any new quicktags showing up when I write a post (have tried restarting firefox as well)

    Anything I could have missed?

    Cheers,

    James

    What version of WP are you using?

    -Ken

    Dear Ken, I am quite excited about this edit to the quicktags. I followed your instructions and unfortunately still have the same issue as James.

    I’m running 2.0. Don’t recall if it’s 2.0.1 or 2.0.2.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    I’m running 2.0.2

    Already tried WP Shop (https://www.cregy.co.uk/2006/03/22/wp-shop-6/) but it was a wee bit bloated and buggy for my liking…)

    Kyle, have you had any luck with this yet?

    @ All
    This is strange because I am seeing the quicktags. If you scroll all the way to the bottom you should see the version. (ie. 2.02 — 2.66 seconds )

    BTW: I only have 2.0 in my dev directory so I will update to 2.0.2 just in case its another version issue. That would suck that 2.0 QTs are different then 2.02 QTs ??

    @ 3stripe
    Can you elaborate on the bloated and buggy comment? any suggestions?

    Never mind about my above question…I realized you are not saying my quicktag is bloated and buggy…sorry

    I will let you know what I find in regards to this working in 2.0.2

    @ ALL

    I am now running WP 2.0.2 and all is fine with my quicktags. Where did you place your QT file? it should be under the following directory:

    wp-includes/js/quicktags.js

    You should also turn off the WYSIWYG Editor because quicktags don’t show up as long as it is active.

    Someone reply and let me know where you are at…thx

    -Ken

    Ah didn’t realise it wasn’t compatible with the WYSIWYG editor! That explains the problem!

    Is there any way the 2 could work together? Or would that need another plugin perhaps…

    PS. No I wasn’t having a go at your plugin – of course not! AND, if I was I wouldn’t have been quite so direct anyhow ??

    @3stripe

    I will have to code a TinyMCE plugin so it works with the editor. I wish they worked together but they don’t. The WP2 release didn’t really document the fact very well.

    I realized you weren’t taking a jab at the plugin ?? Even if you were I wouldn’t take offense. If the code was bloated I was curious as to what the problem could have been.

    thanks for the response…cheers

    Ditto, like 3stripe.
    Problem is I’m still not seeing it.
    But, don’t mind me, I’m presently knee deep in other issues.

    Thanks for your quick responses Ken.

    @kyletalbott

    If the WYSIWYG editor is on then you won’t see any quicktags…turn off the WYSIWYG editor on your user options pages…in the current WP2 environment they can’t be used at the same time.

    cheers

    @kvillines

    I will take a look as I wanted to start fiddling with TinyMCE plugins, will keep you posted

    @apidevlab

    Great! I haven’t had time to look at TinyMCE plugins yet…I was planning on doing that this week too.

    I am 100% lost with regard to how to use this plugin. I have a client who already has all her code for paypal, including button code. And every time I try to make a page and switch over the HTML mode so that I can insert her code, I get no fields and no buttons, only the alt link text from the paypal buttons that aren’t displaying. I was hoping your plugin would help me but unfortunately whehter I’m using the rich text editor or not, I can’t see any kind of quicktag text or paypal anything. can anyone help me?
