V 4.7.1 caused a WP crash

I just tried updating from 4.6.3 to 4.7.1. This caused WP to throw a wobbly and display a message saying that the database was up to date. Clicking OK on this left me with a blank screen. Using Browser >back was no help. I was unable to get back to the plugins page. Went into FTP and renamed the plugin, which enabled me to get back into the admin and delete the plugin. Downloaded and re-installed 4.6.3.
