After selecting Google Drive as the location for backup storage, I then sign in with Google to authenticate the connection, permissions, etc. I’m taken off WordPress to complete this. When I click the off-site button to “Complete Setup” it then redirects me back to the Backup page, not the Settings page where I there is no direction to “save settings.” This is poor execution of UX/UI. The “Complete Setup” page needs a directive informing the user to go back to settings and “Save Changes.”

Also, there is no indication of where to manually authenticate creating a user experience dead end.

I’m not requesting support, except that this plugin would be a better plugin if these changes are implemented. And because this is a user experience issue, it deters me and maybe other users from even thinking about purchasing a plugin with low quality UX, which is a basic for all plugins free or paid. In other words, it is not creating trust with the user.

This is deliberate. The process for setting up Google Drive is to

1.Select GoogleDrive in the settings tab

    2. Save the setting in the settings tab

3.authenticate with google drive through the pop up window

    4. goto the backup/restore tab to take a backup

I suspect you are authenticating with Google Drive before you are saving your setting which is changing the user journey.

There is a message that says ” After?you have saved your settings (by clicking ‘Save Changes’ below), then come back here once and follow this link to complete authentication with Google Drive”

The manual authentication is available when you click the link that says “Having problems authenticating” : https://snipboard.io/cu6BT4.jpg

You should the have additional instructions appear: https://snipboard.io/E6zYfT.jpg
