UTM variables are wrong?

    Hi

    First – thanks for a very useful plugin and great documentation!

    I’ve installed the plugin here and added the parameters to a first CF7 form here.

    1. First test went ok – parameters were sent to email using the form.
    But – second test using other parameters – sent the same ones from the first test even though they were different. Where did we go wrong? ??

    2. Second problem – GCLID wasn’t sent along with the other UTM parameters. How come?

    I’ll appreciate any kind of help here

    1-) do you use and caching plugin? or does your server cache the pages?

    2-) in order to test GCLID, you need to come from a google ads or you need to manually add the gclid to the URL. Is it what you did when you tested it?

    1. Yes – WPROCKET, and YES – there is some server file cache service.
    2. Yes (my Adwords/analytirs gal did it, and she’s a pro :-))

    Can you send me the URL you are testing this? I’ll test if gclid cariables are beeing recorded.

    I think it is related with the caching.

    I tried incognito with this link. I see the utm_source value populated. And then closed all the pages (to flush the cache) and started another incognito session. And changed the URL little bit . And updated utm_source value updated. So, if you start with a clean cache (session) for your testing, you will see that there is no problem as well.

    Thanks 4 testing.

    I have shut down the cache plugin and ran two successful tests, so it does look like the caching plugin.
    OK now… caching plugins is common practice, and WPROCKET is one of the best and popular of them, so is there a way to use the plugin on websites running it?

    Similar problem was reported using WPEngine. And WPEngine people were able to whitelist the utm_* and gclid variables not to cache at all. You can create a ticket with WPROCKET and ask them if they can do the same thing. Please let us know what they have to say, it helps other users like you in future.
