Utilize mailchimp’s recent change to allow single opt-in

    Mailchimp recently made changes (starting 10/31/2017) to allow single opt-ins. I’ve done some testing on my site, which uses this plugin, and it’s still using the double opt-in.

    Is there a way to use this plugin with single opt-in?

    I like how this plugin works with my theme’s styling, and don’t want to switch to something else. But single opt-in is more important to me than that, so I’ll need to find an alternative if this can’t be forced to do single opt-in.

  • I had the exact same question. I’d like to switch to single opt-ins and have set up my Mailchimp account to do this–and switched WP4MC settings to “single opt-in” in two places. But when I do a test to see if it works, I keep getting an error message. Is there a fix for this. . . that doesn’t involve me uploading another plug in? Thanks!

    There’s nothing on the plugin’s end needed. It simply submits to Mailchimp, so this is likely a setting on the Mailchimp side.

    Genesis eNews Extended is a pretty “stupid” plugin — it just takes the form entries on the site and passes it to the mailing list provider of your choice. It doesn’t do anything else.
