oh I forgot to say about lower/upper case.
Actually Persian and Arabic does not have lower or uppercase letters. but if you mean holding shitf key, I must tell you that the first letter I sent in the previous post (?) and the second one (?) are placed in the H key. and if we hold shift, it types ? and without shift it types ?. Actually they are the same letter in the alphabet, but in a two different shapes which ? is pronounced like Umbrella, and ? is prounounced as apple.ok I will rename the files and send you back.
That would be awesome! Thank you so much.

That makes things easier ??

That’s interesting. On the side note, how does it feel to be forced to constantly switch alphabet when you read and write? I mean it’s one thing to use various languages, which is natural to many people these days. But you not only have to completely switch the letters in your head, but also switch your reading and writing direction! Were you learning both languages/alphabets simulatenusly since you were young, or have you started learning English later on?
I feel I would be capable of learning couple of new languages, I could also try to learn different script, such as Cyrillic, but to learn to read and write different alphabet from right to left is totally beyond my imagination…
Here is the 512.png files renamed as you wante:

it’s not a big deal! the problem accures just in writing applications such as MS.Word and… switching between RTL and LTR and combining them in a sentence is a little confusing for newbies. but learning English is so easy ?? we start learning English in our schools. And there are lots of Language institutes teaching English out there, for any age, even a 5 year old child.
Persian is so easy, and so beautiful language. It’s been said that French is the language of Love, German is the language of industry, English is the language of people, Arabic is the language of God, and Persian is the language of poetry.I must say that this similarity in Persian and Arabic alphabet has a history of more than 1000 years. before that Persian was completely different from Arabic.
take a look at here if you are interested in learning Persian:
https://www.easypersian.com/Thanks for the link, I may take a look sometime. I just Googled how Persian actually sounds like and I love it, it sounds soooo smooth.
Huge thanks for the png files. I have just integrated the Arabic alphabet into the plugin. Would you mind giving it a quick test before I make the release? Here is the link – https://dev49.net/buddypress-first-letter-avatar.zip
It has the same version number as the latest release (2.2.1), so if you are using the plugin right now, you will have to replace the files on your FTP or delete the plugin and install it from the zip I’m sending you. Thanks,
DanHi @aminima, any update on this? ?? I could release the update any time now, I just need to know it works properly for Arabic letters ??
Cheers,
DanArabic alphabet has been available for quite a while not – I’m not sure how many users actually use it, but I haven’t received any complaints, so I guess I can mark this one as resolved.
Cheers,
Danoh God, really sorry. I was far from human civilization! for a long time.
I updated to the latest version, everything works and is great! welldone.
but there is a minor issue, JPG files of letters does not exist, and I must use PNG in settings.another thing, because of that Persian has 4 letters more than Arabic, and the font I used is a persian font, it would be better if you change this line:
Added support for Arabic letters (huge thanks to @aminima)

Added support for Persian and Arabic letters (huge thanks to @aminima)very nice and light plugin
but there is a minor issue, JPG files of letters does not exist, and I must use PNG in settings
How is that a problem? ?? PNG are the only available files, because they are lighter and higher quality than JPG. JPG is meant for photographs – any computer generated graphics look better in PNG and weight much less. Convert the PNG images to JPG to see how much more space the JPG takes up. It is not economical to use JPG.
the font I used is a persian font, it would be better if you change this line
Well, that is part of the changelog and changing changelog after long time after release could cause confusion (and would not make much sense in version control system).
Cheers,
DanielI mean “jpg” was the default parameter in the plugin settings page.
If you have just PNG files in this plugin, so this part of the settings is not necessary then. No, PNG is a default format. I never used the JPG and default format in plugin settings is PNG.
If you wanted to use your own set of avatars, you would want to specify your own format, so this setting is necessary for people who use their own custom avtars.Cheers,
Dan
