Backups are failing because there is a time differential between the actual time and the system time for one of my WP blogs (hosted by 3rd party provider). The UTC time shown as “current” is off by 15 minutes (it’s ahead according to WP). I checked this setting on three other WP blogs I operate on hosted sites (one is the same host as this erroneous one, and the other two are on other providers servers). They all are correct and have the proper time showing. I have no idea who to contact and how, and even less idea as to what I can do to change this error. This is upsetting.

If it helps, this is the error message I get from UpDraft Plus regarding failed attempts at backups scheduled (all manually initiated backups—to update plugins—also fail). I have never had this error before:

“Amazon S3: Error: Failed to access bucket updraftplus-berthamagazine. Check your permissions and credentials. (1) The difference between the request time and the current time is too large.”

The time is brought in directly from the server’s clock, so you’ll need to make sure that the server’s clock is set correctly.

You’ll need to contact your hosting provider’s support for that.

Thanks. I thought of that, which is why I checked the other WP installation at the same host. But I know these domains are not on the same server, so I’ll check with them.

This makes sense. Thank you James.
