Using year-monthnum-day as permalink?

Hello,

I have a CPT in which I only post 1 entry per day, thereby making each day entry unique. I have it presently set up as:

http:/my.url.com/cpt/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

But I would really much rather use:

http:/my.url.com/cpt/%year%-%monthnum%-%day%

as the permalink structure for this specific cpt.

I have tried it, but the permalink would simply take me to the daily archive page instead of that specific day’s entry.

I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.
