Using WP Site as a Calendar (Posts = Events)?

Does anyone know how to set-up WP as an event calendar. Instead of blog posts, I’ll be doing events with blurbs. Obviously, the event (post) dates would be in the future, so they would need to be able to display. Make sense? Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
