Using WP as a CMS: archives invisible to unregistered users!
-
Hellp WP-users!
I have been unable to solve this problem, mainly because I didn’t realize from whence it stems. First I thought it was a problem in The Loop in my template, either in the index.php, category.php or archive.php. But when I changed the theme back to the Default WP-Theme I noticed that the problem persists: the archive pages are unaccesible for users that are not logged in! So I realized the problem wasn’t in my php-files but rather somewhere in the backend configuration.
I as said, I am using WP as a CMS:** In Settings -> Reading I set a static page as the front page, but selected none as the post page. I did this because the site structure is as follows:
Pages:
Team One
-Subpage1
-Subpage2
—>Link to post category “One” archive pageTeam Two
-Subpage1
-Subpage2
—>Link to post category “Two” archive pageetc…
Each parent page belongs to a bloggers’ team and entries between teams are unrelated, so I don’t need a main blog page but rather the independent archive (category) pages. I have also tried setting a specific page as the posts page but this hasn’t solved the problem.
** In Settings -> Permalinks I selected for the Category base ‘veranstaltungen’ (which is the German for Events), as I am using the blog as a “News” feature. So the “—>Link to post category “Two” archive page” mentioned above links to /veranstaltungen/team-two. This works, but only when someone is logged in. As soon one logs out, the category pages won’t be listed! Where is my error?
The site is here
Try for example -> Am Galgenberg (aka Team One) -> Aktuell (aka Archive Page).
you will get a “Nothing found warning”, but I can see it!I will much appreciate any insight!
Greetings
