• I am new to WordPress and would like to use it as a CMS. I have got as far as successfully installing it on to my web server but am not to clear on where to go next.

Are there any tutorials or documents which provide an overview of how to use WP as a CMS?

  • Hmmm… you’re giving me an idea for writing a new blog ??

    1. With wordpress you have pages, posts, and categories.
    2. Your pages are static and only change based on how you edit the page.
    3. Posts are written, and can be placed in numerous places, depending on how you want your site to look.
    4. Categories are used for even more control. You can assign each of your posts to one, two, or all of your categories.

    Here’s how to start.

    1. Create a page. Name it “Practice Page” or something. Now, create a category, “Practice Category”. Lastly, create a post (can you guess what we are going to name it?) “Pratice Post”.

    2. Now just experiment with how they look and how they interact.

I’ll write a general overview, as I see this question asked often. You can watch my site at https://www.joshlobe.com to see when I post a guide.

You may also want to google some to see if anyone else has something like this. I would imagine it’s out there… but I haven’t searched for it before.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Josh.

I’ll give that a go and keep an eye on your site.
