    Please help!

I am so very new to this and technically challenged so need some step by step help!

    background:

    1. I have purchased a domain name and hosting package with 123reg.co.uk
    2. I have installed wordpress onto my 123reg package – using the one click button under the default directory
    3. I have a wordpress.com account but realised now that I should have used www.remarpro.com as I want to use plugins, etc.
    4. The site is not “live” per say it only holds draft posts but I would still like to keep them.

Please can someone give me some instructions to move forward in very basic english terms?

    Appreciate any and all help!

    Thanks
    michelle

    Ok faisalwp

Yes I can see the login page when I go to lostinfood.co.uk/wp-login.php

After I login, I ge the url of https://michellesley.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

    Thanks

How are you directing the lostinfood.co.uk domain name to your self-hosted site? All of the urls on your site indicate that you installed WordPress using an IP address. For example, https://94.136.40.103/~lostinfood.co.uk/wp-login.php seems to work just fine.

Ah see this could be my issue. I am not really sure.

In my control panel for 123reg I have the domain listed as lostinfood.co.uk

From here I do have options to control and it is through these options that I selected wordpress in the CGI scripts.

Where is the lostinfood.co.uk domain name pointing to?

From my limited knowledge I dont see it pointing anywhere.

When I go to the “vie website” button on my control panel I am directed to https://94.136.40.103/~lostinfood.co.uk/wp-login.php

From here I try and login, but with absolutely no luck. I have tried every possible combination I have of usernames and passwords ( i have them all written down at the moment!) but no luck. Then when I try and request new password, it wont recognise any usernames that I have used.

Looks like i have managed to mess everything up!

Try asking your hosts to check where your domain name is pointing to.

Hi guys, just wanted to say a big thank you for all the help earlier. I think things are now sorted as I can now access my wordpress account and plugins and have redirected the domain name!

    Thanks!
